O’Donovan Waste Disposal eventually grew to be one of London’s leading waste management companies, but its roots date back to 1959 when it was started by Joe O’Donovan who immigrated from West Cork in Ireland.

Tragedy struck when Joe died suddenly at the age of 51, leaving his wife Kathleen and his young family devastated and in shock. His four children decided they would work together to continue his legacy.

For more than four decades Michael, Caroline, Anthony and Jacqueline worked together to continue building the O’Donovan company into a respected multi award-winning business with an array of impressive accreditations, processeing over a million tonnes of waste annually.
Leading the way in safe, green and efficient waste operations and offering an excellent service to clients. In 2022, the business took the bold step to operate its entire fleet of lorries using solely HVO Biofuel, becoming the first waste company in the UK to do so.
